1. Purpose, publisher and acceptance
Twools (twools.app) is a service published by TWOOLS, a French SAS with share capital of €3,000, registered with the Pontoise Trade and Companies Register under number 911 061 133, with its registered office at 2 Esplanade de la Gare, 95110 Sannois, France (“TWOOLS” or “we”). These terms of use govern your use of the website, the editor, the control room, overlay links and the Twools Buddy app. You accept them when you create your account; they remain available on this page. The Twools Pro subscription is also governed by the terms of sale (twools.app/en/sales-terms), which prevail over these terms for subscription, payment and the rights attached to Pro. The privacy policy (twools.app/en/privacy) informs you about how your data is processed; it is not a request for consent.
2. The service and plans
Twools lets you build an overlay in a drag-and-drop editor, display it in your broadcasting software (OBS or any software that accepts a browser source) through an overlay link, and control it live from the control room on any connected device. The Free plan, with no payment, gives access to a selection of widget types (12 at present) and shows the Twools watermark on the overlay. The paid Pro plan gives access to all 28 widget types and removes the watermark. The content and price of each plan are set out on the Pricing page and in the terms of sale. Some widgets display data from third-party services (section 6) or, through Twools Buddy, the music playing on your PC and your Valorant games (section 7). The service requires an Internet connection, an up-to-date browser and, to show the overlay on air, compatible broadcasting software.
3. Account, overlay link and security
The editor, the control room and overlay links require an account. You can sign up with an email address and a password, or with your Google or Twitch account, whose terms also apply to that sign-in. You must be at least 15 years old; under 18, you need your legal guardian’s consent, and only adults may subscribe to Pro (terms of sale). You provide an accurate email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for the use of your account, including by people you give access to (for example to run the control room), unless fraudulent access results from a failure by TWOOLS. Your overlay link displays your overlay without signing in: anyone who has it can see it. Do not share it; if it has leaked, regenerate it from the editor and the old link stops working. Report any unauthorized use to contact@twools.app without delay.
4. Rules of use
You use Twools in accordance with the law, these terms and the rules of the platforms you broadcast on. In particular, you must not: store or broadcast unlawful content through Twools (incitement to hatred, harassment, violence, harm to minors or to privacy, infringement, including of trademarks, logos or works used without permission); hide, crop, cover or remove the watermark of a Free overlay, or get around the limits of a plan, for example by creating several accounts to chain trials; access other people’s accounts, links or data without permission, get around security measures or technical limits, overload the service or extract data from it by automated means; resell or rent access to the service without our written consent. Broadcasting monetized streams with your overlays remains allowed. A breach may lead to the measures set out in sections 5 and 10, following the procedure described there.
5. Your content, notices and moderation
Your content (text, questions, configurations, uploaded images and logos) remains your responsibility. For that content, TWOOLS acts as a hosting provider: we do not monitor it in advance and use no automated moderation tools. Uploaded images and covers can be accessed publicly from their address, so that your broadcasting software can display them. Anyone can notify us of content they consider unlawful by writing to contact@twools.app with: the exact location of the content (overlay link or image address), the reasons why it is unlawful, their name and email address, and a statement that the notice is made in good faith. We acknowledge receipt, review the notice diligently and inform its author of our decision. Each case is reviewed by a person; depending on the seriousness, we may remove or disable content, deactivate an overlay link, or suspend or close the account. The user concerned receives the reasons for the measure and can contest it by replying to the message. Single point of contact under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), for authorities and users alike: contact@twools.app, in French or English.
6. Third-party services
Some features rely on third-party services: Twitch (sign-in, chat, alerts and sub goals), Google (sign-in), YouTube (channel statistics, through the YouTube API Services), Riot Games (League of Legends rank and match history, read by Twools Buddy from the League client on your PC or, with the Riot ID you enter, from Riot; Valorant rank and match history, read by Twools Buddy from the Riot client on your PC), API-Football (team search), Apple (cover search from the title and artist, when Twools Buddy provides none) and Stripe (Pro payments). Their own terms apply. By using the YouTube widgets, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms); Google's Privacy Policy also applies (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can revoke the access granted to Twools from your Twitch or Google account settings. These services may change or interrupt their data without TWOOLS controlling them. Twools is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by these services; their trademarks belong to their owners. Twools isn't endorsed by Riot Games and doesn't reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. Riot Games, and all associated properties are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
7. Twools Buddy
Twools Buddy is an app for Windows 10 and 11, published by TWOOLS and provided free of charge to feed the Now playing, Valorant rank, Valorant match history, League of Legends rank and League of Legends match history widgets (plans shown on the Pricing page). Only download it from twools.app/buddy (file hosted on GitHub). It is not yet digitally signed: Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. It runs without installation or administrator rights and only starts with Windows if you tick that option. Once paired with your account through a single-use code, and while it is open, it reads the information Windows publishes for the player you choose (Spotify, a browser or another compatible player) and sends Twools: title, artist, album, duration, playback position and state, the player’s name, your PC’s name and the cover provided by the player (reduced image). If you enable its Valorant sensor, off by default, Buddy also reads, through the Riot client open on your PC and with the session that client gives it, the data of the signed-in Valorant account, and sends Twools: your Riot ID (name and tag), your game region, your rank and rank rating, and your latest matches (mode, map, agent, score, kills, deaths, assists, result and rank change). If you enable its League of Legends sensor, off by default, Buddy reads in the same way, through the League client open on your PC, the data of the signed-in account, and sends Twools: your Riot ID (name and tag), your game server, your summoner level and icon, your Solo/Duo and Flex ranks (tier, division, league points, wins, losses, placement games left), the rank changes it observes between two readings, and your latest matches (queue, champion, kills, deaths, assists, minions killed, duration, date and result). To compute these changes, Buddy keeps its latest rank readings on your PC. The League sensor is not available for accounts on Korean servers. Buddy never sees your Riot password, does not read the game’s memory, shows nothing about other players and changes nothing in the game. This information is shown on your overlay and in your control room. Buddy does not capture sound, microphone or screen; on your disk it only reads the files the Riot and League clients publish for their local connections and their install location, and only when the sensor for that game is enabled. The pairing token is stored encrypted on your PC; you can disconnect a device from the editor or the control room. Buddy does not update itself: it tells you when a new version exists, to download from twools.app/buddy; a version that has become incompatible with the service may be refused, which Buddy tells you. TWOOLS grants you a personal, free, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Buddy with your account; you may not modify, redistribute or decompile it, except where the law allows. To uninstall it: untick start with Windows, quit Buddy from its icon, then delete the file and its “Twools Buddy” folder in AppData. Twools is not affiliated with the publishers of music players or with Riot Games.
8. Intellectual property
The service, its code, design, presets, templates and graphic elements, as well as the Twools name and logo, belong to TWOOLS or its licensors. TWOOLS grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for the life of your account and to include these elements in your overlays for your broadcasts, including monetized ones; replays and clips already published may stay online after your account ends. You keep your rights in your content and warrant that you hold the necessary permissions, in particular for the logos, trademarks and images you upload. You grant TWOOLS, free of charge, worldwide and for the life of your account plus the deletion period, a non-exclusive licence limited to hosting, technically reproducing, adapting to the display format and transmitting your content to the surfaces you use (editor, control room, overlay link), solely to provide the service. We do not use it to promote Twools without your consent.
9. Liability and availability
TWOOLS provides the service in accordance with its commitments and applicable statutory guarantees, including those for digital services. Maintenance or incidents may affect availability; planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. You are responsible for what you broadcast with Twools, including third-party content shown by your widgets (chat messages, viewer names, song titles and covers), and for complying with the rules of broadcasting platforms. Twools grants you no rights in music or covers. Games, quizzes, polls and draws you run with your audience are your responsibility, including compliance with the rules on lotteries, contests and gambling. These terms do not remove any mandatory right, remedy or right to compensation provided by law. The terms of sale specify the rights attached to Pro.
10. Suspension, termination and account deletion
You can stop using Twools at any time. Stop Pro renewal from subscription management in your account. To delete your account, write to contact@twools.app from the account’s email address. Deletion first cancels any Pro subscription, immediately and with no further charge; the current period is not refunded, except under your statutory rights (withdrawal, guarantees). To keep Pro until the end of the period, stop renewal first, then request deletion once the period has ended. Deletion deactivates your overlay links and Twools Buddy devices, erases your uploaded images, then erases your data within the periods set out in the privacy policy, except data the law requires us to keep. TWOOLS may restrict content, deactivate a link, or suspend or close an account only for an objective reason (security threat, unlawful use, breach of these terms, non-payment for Pro, discontinuation of the service) and proportionately. We inform you by email of the measure, its reasons and the ways to remedy or contest it; a security emergency may require immediate action, explained promptly afterwards. A closure that does not sanction a serious breach, in particular if the service is discontinued, is announced at least 30 days in advance.
11. Personal data
TWOOLS processes your data in accordance with its privacy policy (twools.app/en/privacy), which sets out the data concerned (account, overlays, Twools Buddy, billing), purposes, recipients and processors, retention periods and your rights. When your widgets display your viewers’ data (usernames, messages), you decide to broadcast it; Twools processes it only to run those widgets.
12. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may develop the service (adding, changing or removing features, adapting to changes in third-party services) for a valid reason: security, legal compliance, technical or offer changes. A change that adversely affects your access or use is announced in advance by email or in the app, together with your rights; for Pro, the terms of sale apply. Any material change to these terms is notified by email at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you refuse it, you can close your account free of charge before that date. A new version never applies retroactively. This version applies to accounts created from October 2, 2026; for an account created earlier, it applies 30 days after the email announcing it, and the previous version remains applicable until then. The current version and its date appear at the top of this page; previous versions are available on request.
13. Governing law, disputes and language
These terms are governed by French law, without depriving you, if you are a consumer, of the more protective mandatory provisions of your country of residence. If a problem arises, write to contact@twools.app first. No clause imposes a particular court on consumers. These terms are offered in French and English; the version that is binding between us is the one in the interface language when you signed up.
